The exchange between science, industry, and politics in the financial center Zurich is first-class thanks to excellent networking.

The 90,000 employees in Zurich’s financial sector are extremely well networked via various associations and initiatives. The industry associations in conjunction with the universities supply highly educated and trained financial specialists. At the same time, research and practical experience provide each other with stimuli.

The Department of Banking and Finance (IBF) at the University of Zurich (UZH) works together with the financial hub to create a forceful team, which is also joined by a third powerhouse in the form of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH). Together, the ETH and UZH operate the interdisciplinary Center of Competence Finance in Zurich (CCFZ), and also play an active role in the Swiss Finance Institute (SFI), which passes on top-level knowledge at Zurich events.

In Zurich, a strong focus is also placed on the FinTech sector via initiatives such as the F10 startup incubator, the Trust Square blockchain hub, or the Swiss FinTech conference, “Finance 2.0”, which is held every year in Zurich.
