Events with COVID Certificate

Zürich Tourismus relies on the Swiss COVID Certificate in order to be exempt from requirements such as mandatory masks or capacity limits.

Zürich Tourismus’ first priority is to ensure the safety of its guests and partners at events. That’s why all guests need a COVID certificate in order to participate at events organized by Zürich Tourismus.

What this means for you:

  • Please bring your COVID certificate with you; either as print out or QR code in your COVID Certificate App - Download Apple Store and Download Google Play Store. You only get access to the event with a valid certificate.

  • Please bring a valid ID with you, too.

What is a COVID Certificate, and how do I get one:

  • The COVID certificate provides documentary evidence that you have had a COVID-19 vaccination, have had and recovered from the disease or have tested negative with a rapid antigen or PCR test.

  • The QR code is the key element of the COVID Certificate

  • The COVID Certificate is issued either upon request or automatically in electronic form after the vaccine, PCR or rapid antigen test.

Validity period of the certificate (in Switzerland and at the current time):

  • For those who are fully vaccinated: In Switzerland, the certificate is valid for 365 days after administration of the second dose.

  • For recovered individuals: Validity begins on the 11th day after the positive PCR test result and continues for 180 days from the test result.

  • For persons tested negative:

o PCR test: 72 hours from time of sample collection.
o Rapid antigen test: 48 hours from the time of sample collection.

Useful information:

  • The cost of rapid antigen tests is covered by the federal government for Swiss citizens, provided the test was performed at a testing center, by a medical professional, in a hospital, or at a pharmacy.

  • Free appointments for rapid antigen tests at Covid-19 test centers in the Zurich region can be found on onedoc.ch . Enter the appropriate city under "Location."

  • The result of a rapid antigen test is usually available within 15 to 20 minutes.
