Support for the Tikondane Orphanage Centre
Social Project at ICCA CEC 2024
The ICCA Central European Chapter Meeting and the ICCA Future of Healthcare Meetings events in Zurich will be supporting the Tikondane Orphanage Centre, located in Kabwe, Zambia. The participants of the chapter meeting will be engaging in a creative activity to support the children at Tikondane.
The Tikondane Orphanage Centre offers a nurturing environment for 21 children and 3 students, managed by a dedicated team of three employees. It was founded by Elsbeth and Jürg Noti from Zurich, who have poured immense passion into this initiative. The orphanage sustains itself by cultivating approximately 15 acres of farmland and maintaining a large vegetable garden. These efforts, combined with donations, enable continuous and meaningful development of the orphanage.
The foundation is always grateful for donations of pens, colored pencils, and writing books. If you have any of these items at home, please consider bringing them to the meeting in Zurich.

Travel Information
Good to Know
Traveling to Zurich
Zurich is situated in the very heart of Europe and at the foot of the Swiss Alps. The city is the ideal base from which to explore Switzerland but also Europe. Thanks to countless direct connections by train and by plane within Europe and all over the world, travelling to Zurich is very convenient.
By Train
Zurich Central Station is a hub in Europe for railway transportation. On a daily basis and several times per day, Zurich is connected to capital and major cities in Europe. Therefore, for participants from Europe, the train will offer a convenient and reliable transport medium that will minimise the carbon footprint in transportation to Zurich. You can plan and book your journey quickly and easily with Interrail or Trainline.
By Plane
Zurich Airport has direct connections to 200 destinations all over the world and is a 10-minute train ride from the centrally located Zurich Main Station. In addition, with around 350 rail connections and over 700 bus and 400 streetcar departures a day, you can get from Zurich Airport to other major cities and tourist regions in Switzerland in no time at all.
Getting around in Zurich
Zurich’s public transportation network is one of the most efficient and reliable in the world. Trams, buses and trains will get you to the venues quickly and safely.
All attendees will receive complimentary public transportation tickets during the event (August 29-31, 2024), offered by Zurich Convention Bureau.
Plugs in Switzerland
The voltage in Switzerland, as in most of Europe, is 230V/50 Hz. Switzerland uses type C (2-pin) and Type J (3-pin) plugs. (Type C 2-pin plugs also fit J sockets.)
Most power sockets are designed for three pin round plugs. The standard continental type plug with two round pins, applied for many electrical travel products, may be used without problem. Adaptors are available in most hotels.
