For the first time in 22 years, the Annual Conference of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE) 2016 – the largest annual meeting of scientists from this sphere – was held in Switzerland. From June 22–25, 2016, 739 delegates from all corners of the globe made their way to Zurich at the invitation of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) to debate current topics from their specialist field.
On the program were parallel sessions featuring 500 paper presentations, poster sessions, themed sessions, no fewer than 14 policy sessions, and three excellent keynote speeches. The activities were rounded off with a prize ceremony and a wide variety of social events.
«The excellent public transportation system and the wonderful summer temperatures meant that our delegates also had the possibility to explore the city of Zurich and surrounding region, as well as experience the rich cultural facilities and activities on offer, beyond the main building of the ETH and to discover all the wonderful things about Zurich. The feedback we received from participants was invariably positive, and the city of Zurich is a wonderful venue for scientific events.»
