Juchhof Municipal Farm

In the Höngg quarter, the farm run by the City of Zurich has its own vineyard, in which it grows grapes for the city wine.

With the Juchhof, the City of Zurich runs its own farm, which entices all kinds of delicious produce out of its urban soil. For example, in the picturesque “Chilesteig” vineyard in the Höngg quarter, where grapevines were believed to be cultivated already back in Roman times. Here, between the church and the Limmat river, the Juchhof cultivates the Riesling-Silvaner, Räuschling, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir grape varieties, which, after plenty of nurture and care, are transformed into Zurich city wine.

In order to continually rejuvenate the age-old grapevines, wine enthusiasts can sponsor a vine. In return, they receive a bottle of Züri Perle or Züri Prior from the Höngg vineyard.
