Kronenhalle Bar

There is hardly a more history-steeped and sophisticated bar in Zurich: at Bellevue, guests enjoy drinks in an elegant atmosphere surrounded by art and artists.

The Kronenhalle Bar was designed in 1965 by Zurich architect Robert Haussmann as a total artwork. The bar captivates with its seats upholstered in green Saffiano leather and ceiling finished with mahogany paneling as is used in boat building. The lighting fixtures on the bar counter were designed by Swiss sculptor Diego Giacometti and are just as much works of art as the paintings gracing the walls. The legendary parquet flooring from London County Hall also shows that the Kronenhalle has always attached great importance to style and high quality.

But what makes the Kronenhalle Bar equally as special as its unique interior are its loyal employees: the bartenders are dedicated to serving consistently superb drinks and always welcome guests with the same level of professional courtesy. First and foremost, chef de bar Christian Heiss, who even keeps a notebook containing his guests’ favorite cocktail recipes and special wishes.
