History of Switzerland - From the Pike to the Robot
At the National Museum, visitors embark on a journey through time from the Middle Ages to the present day.
Today it is hard to imagine that Swiss mercenaries were hired as warriors throughout Europe for centuries. Already in the first room, numerous pikes show in an impressive way the reality of that time. The guided tour illustrates Swiss history and shows how the federal constitution came into being. Visitors discover how Swiss politics were influenced and how Switzerland became what it is today.
